Key responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
-Provide day-to-day supervision of high complexity testing performed by qualified staff to ensure that appropriate turnaround time and quality of samples is met
-Monitor test analysis and specimen examinations to ensure that acceptable levels of analytic performance are maintained.
-Ensure that technical staff follow the approved SOPs when testing patient samples.
-Ensure the accuracy of test results before release.
-Performs troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
-Maintain and update the current procedures
-Provides strategic planning and quality assurance/process improvement
-Provide orientation to all testing personnel
-Evaluate and document the performance of all testing personnel
-Participate in the monthly quality meeting, presenting activities and metric outcomes to review and assess compliance, developing and implementing remedial action plans, as needed, and activities for quality improvement
-Coordinate activities and preparing for regulatory inspections
-Work cooperatively in a team environment supporting laboratory staff and cross-functional teams such as automation, R&D, and supply chain
-Ensure operational compliance with the clinical laboratory’s Quality Management Systems (QMS) Program and delivering routine QMS associated metrics
-Ensure training and proficiency in the laboratory’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for clinical testing and knowledgeable of the quality control parameters
-Train, supervise, and assess the competency of testing personnel
-Coordinate and assist in verification and validation
Basic Preferred Profile:
-PhD in Chemical, Biological Sciences, Medical Laboratory Sciences or related with 2 years of Clinical Laboratory Experience OR a Master's with 4 years of Clincal Laboraotry Experience OR a Bachelor's with 6 years of Clinical Laboratory Experience Required.
-3+ of Management in a High Complexity Clinical Lab Required.
-MB (ASCP) or MT/MLS (ASCP) required.
-NGS experience considered a plus but not required.
-Must be comfortable with travel.
Salary and Benefits:
-$100,000-130,000 (depending on experience)
-Full Benefits, including 401K.
