Biostatistician (Remote)

Job Summary:
The sought-after individual will have demonstrated in peer-reviewed scientific publications expertise deriving innovative statistical methodology for the purpose of obtaining accurate solutions to complex scientific problems. The over-arching qualification is proven statistical prowess in the area of high-dimensional data modeling, that may include other challenges such as missing data, censored outcomes, and/or measurement error. This individual will have experience in developing accompanying statistical software that will execute the developed methodology; specifically, proficiency in the use of high-performance multi-threaded computing clusters to deploy such software is necessary. One example of the many exciting opportunities of this position is the development of a novel classification system for a specific biological process along with accompanying data visualization techniques. The successful candidate will also have experience in experimental design, in particular the design, analysis, and monitoring of clinical studies. Finally, this individual will possess a strong desire to learn new areas of statistical, scientific, and computational applications and to continually grow professionally. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual who is comfortable working both independently and as a member of a team. The individual will have excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task by setting working priorities among several conflicting demands. The successful candidate will be confident in decision making, not hesitate to ask questions, and have the ability to clearly articulate decisions/solutions as needed.

Major Job Responsibilities:
· To independently conduct assigned projects as described above and meet time deadlines

· To present reports on research progress and to assist with preparation of scientific manuscripts

Required Skills/Abilities:
· Oral and written English communication skills

· Ability to successfully work remotely via videoconference

· Ability to creatively solve complex problems

· Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization

· Ability to complete milestones and work toward multiple deadlines simultaneously

Education and Experience:
· Doctorate degree in Biostatistics or Statistics with post-doctoral research experience

· Track record of peer-reviewed publications evidencing the candidate’s expertise in developing novel statistical methodology that uses real data to solve specific scientific problems

· Experience in statistical programming with R; (Matlab, Python, C/C++ also valued
