Lighthouse Lab Services is partnered with a first class hospital system in a search for a top notch Blood Bank Supervisor.

The Blood Bank Supervisor is responsible for the quality and reliability of all testing performed in the Laboratory’s Transfusion Medicine Department. Responsible for oversight of MLS staff designated as primary Blood Bankers to include training, mentoring and evaluating.



Evaluates, develops and implements new technical policies and procedures for the Transfusion department to ensure accurate, efficient delivery of services that in compliance with regulatory agencies, including consultation on difficult transfusion cases, oversight of daily operations, and preparation of required statistical data.

-Selects equipment, develops validation protocols that adhere to current Good Manufacturing Process, and ensures proper function of such equipment by monitoring, trouble shooting, problem solving, replacement of components or use of vendor field services.
-Works collaboratively with nursing, providing technical expertise on matters related to Transfusion and Blood Management, reviewing nursing procedures for technical accuracy, assisting with updating of processes and assisting with blood administration audits as needed.
-Performs other related duties as assigned
-Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
-Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
-Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
-Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:

-Bachelor's Degree, Master's degree preferred.
-Minimum of 4 years experience, including management experience preferred.
-ASCP Certification as MLS, BB(ASCP) preferred
