Lighthouse Lab Services has partnered with an independent reference laboratory in the early stages of building their laboratory. This opportunity is located just north of Atlanta, GA. The laboratory is currently running COVID samples, and is in the process of validating for Toxicology.
Our client is currently seeking a Clinical Laboratory Operations Site Director to lead their clinical laboratory in Atlanta, GA. This leader will be responsible for leading a cross functional team overseeing all operations at the facility including laboratory and support functions. The successful candidate will create, inspire, innovate, and develop future leaders.
Management over all the clinical laboratory operations including technical, scientific, and support functions
Oversee the financial performance of the laboratory including budgeting and planning for all laboratory and support departments
Identify and implement the appropriate strategies for reducing costs and improving the quality of services
Manage the talent pipeline to execute the laboratory operations staffing plan and create effective leadership succession
Direct the activities of the laboratory team members to ensure day-to-day operations are in compliance with internal policies, procedures, and CLIA/CAP regulatory standards
Ensure quality accuracy and that all quality monitors meet site and companywide objectives
Collaborate with the R&D team to assist in the development and implementation of new testing or methodologies
Maintain knowledge base of relevant fields and techniques and educate laboratory operations team members on the same
Remain available for telephone consultation with referring physician, clients, sales, and marketing groups
Special projects as assigned by VP, Lab Operations

Responsible for the development of the leadership team, including succession planning, development, and promotion plans, with a focus on strengthening individuals and their capabilities
As a champion of quality of care and patient safety, organize comprehensive laboratory safety and risk assessments and ensure such activities are familiar and ingrained in the local workplace culture
Bachelor's degree required; graduate level degree preferred
Minimum 7 years of relevant laboratory experience (clinical laboratory, pharmaceutical, or biotech industries)
Minimum 5 years of management experience
Strong technical knowledge of molecular biology and molecular testing laboratory practices (CLIA, CAP, NYDOH)
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop others successfully
High aptitude for conflict resolution and relationship building
Ability to adapt/modify leadership and communication styles to achieve best outcomes
Success with teambuilding, employee engagement, and employee recognition initiatives
Experience in balancing all aspects of staffing, workflow, and prioritization within the operation
Attention to detail, organizational ability, clinical judgement, and good communication skills
Customer-focused with the ability to build strong collaborative relationships with the business unit heads and functional managers
Minimum 5 years of management experience leading a team of 25 or more
Experience in Genomics and Pathology
Salary and Benefits:
$75-100k commensurate with experience
