Phosphorus Diagnostics, near Newark, NJ, is a team of scientists using genomics to improve human health by utilizing best-in-class genetic testing that helps people avoid disease and live healthier lives. They are looking for a Full-time Co-Laboratory Director to lead their expert lab team.

A compliance expert is sought as Co-Laboratory Director and leader for an existing CLIA certified, CAP accredited, and NYSDOH approved laboratory. This Lab Director will be performing virology and genetic testing as well as signing out NGS and COVID-19 reports.

o    Application Processing: Complete, process, and maintain CLIA, COLA, CAP, and/or state specific applications and documentation.
o    Equipment Recommendations: Recommend appropriate equipment and supplies for the specific molecular and cytogenetic testing.  
o    Laboratory Build-out and Design: Work in conjunction with instrument manufacturers to plan layout and design on the laboratory space as needed for future changes/additions to the lab.
o    Validation: Assist, oversee, and guide any new validations.
o    SOPs: Develop SOPs as needed.
o    Recruiting: Assist in recruiting, screening, and interviewing potential staff-level employees for the laboratory.
o    Test Menu: Provides guidance with regard to current and proposed test menus.
o    Inspection Preparation: Prepare the laboratory and staff for upcoming inspections and surveys.
o    Industry Knowledge: Keep up-to-date on industry changes in billing, coding, reimbursements, testing, best practices, and innovations.
o    Billing: Provide pro-formas or other documentation as needed, estimating expected revenues based on reimbursement, start-ups costs, and on-going testing.
o    Consulting: Provide on-going consultation to address regulatory and technical issues.
The qualified candidate possesses a doctoral degree and holds or is eligible to obtain a CMS-approved board certification; the NJ Bioanalytical Lab Director license and a New York Certificate of Qualification in Virology are preferred.

For PhDs:
One of the following molecular board certifications is required:
1. ABB – American Board of Bioanalysis with Genetics experience 
3. ABCC – American Board of Clinical Chemistry in Molecular Diagnostics
5. ABMGG – American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics 

For MDs:
•   ABP—American Board of Pathology certification in Molecular Pathology OR Clinical Pathology 
•   Current or eligibility to obtain medical licenses in New Jersey and New York preferred
