Director of Laboratory Operations

Our technology includes functional assessments and epigenetic biomarkers for neurological conditions such as concussion, autism spectrum disorder, and Parkinson’s disease. 

Director of Clinical Laboratory Operations will oversee the operations of the laboratory providing overall direction and leadership with responsibility for ensuring quality and regulatory compliance in all aspects of their clinical laboratory. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
? Lead and oversee clinical laboratory operation of the laboratory, including technical and administrative laboratory operations, regulatory operations in regards to laboratory compliance, laboratory equipment management, laboratory safety, and laboratory quality assurance and compliance
? Manage personnel, including an appropriately CLIA/CLEP credentialed Lab Supervisor, Lab Technicians and others to fully staff ongoing operations
? Employ a sufficient number of laboratory personnel with appropriate education and either experience or training to provide appropriate consultation, properly supervise and accurately perform tests and report test results in accordance with the personnel responsibilities described in CLIA and other applicable regulations
? Responsible for maintaining appropriate CLIA certification of clinical laboratory
? Lead on-site regulatory inspections to maintain good standing with all regulatory bodies
? Ensure that the physical plant and environment conditions of the laboratory are appropriate for the testing performed and provide a safe environment in which employees are protected from physical, chemical and biological hazards
? Oversee all laboratory operations and ensure operations adhere to all applicable quality assurance requirements, laws, and accreditation standards
? Establish and oversee operations standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete on-time delivery
? Oversee the development of the organization's plans and programs in evaluation of long-range planning and regulatory action on operational performance
? Foster a unified culture and promote a process for collaboration, cooperation, quality, sharing of information and mutual teamwork within clinical laboratory operations
? Monitor utilization patterns of lab services and advise leadership of developing trends in clinical service needs
? Actively participate in the Quality Management System and direct laboratory nonconformities investigations and corrective action plans through cooperative work between all laboratory operations and quality
? Participate in the development and implementation of operations budget to ensure compliance with organizational expenditure requirements
? Lead and direct the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes
? As needed, supplement existing laboratory policies and procedures to meet regulatory requirements and provide for customer data protections and security
? Demonstrate extraordinary leadership, communication, and team building skills in managing all aspects of laboratory operations
? Manage ongoing relationships with third parties (i.e. reference labs, vendors, etc.)
? Recommend capital equipment purchases by determining key risks and financial returns

? BS or BA in a medical technology, chemical engineering, or chemistry field, an MS or Ph.D. is a plus.
? 5+ years of relevant experience as a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor or 2+ years as Clinical Laboratory Director

? 125-150k
