Role Overview:
The Histotechnologist will work and utilize the knowledge necessary to processes, embeds, cuts and stain tissue specimens in a high-volume reference lab setting. This role will be assisting in setting up new histology lab and new instrument validation while working very closely with quality team to ensure appropriate SOPs are drafted and approved in timely manner. This role will be working on day-to-day operations which involves embedding, slide preparation, microtomy and other technical procedures performed in histology laboratory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain specimen integrity through correct identification of samples, slides/folder, and blocks.
  • Maintain and develop equipment and record maintenance.
  • Completes and organizes paperwork; assists with maintenance of equipment; other duties as assigned.
  • Assisting in the establishment of new protocols.
  • Perform QC deviation investigations and generated reports for senior management.
  • Assist and conduct laboratory equipment’s Performance Qualifications and Installation Qualifications.
  • Assisting in the developing of new Quality Control metrics and procedures.
  • Assist in the planning and executing of assay verification and validation experiments.

Education/Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma and 1-3 years histology experience required, Associate’s degree preferred
  • Histology Certification not required. Associate degree preferred

Skill requirement:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Enjoys working in a regulated environment and willing to comply with Inivata Standard Operating Procedures and Policies
  • Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks and prioritize workload with attention to detail
  • Ability to set priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Able to take initiative and work independently; sense of urgency in completing assigned tasks
  • Understanding of high-complexity histology techniques highly preferred.
  • Histology bench skills required.
  • Experience in developing and implementing new procedures highly desirable.
  • Experience working in a CAP and/or CLIA laboratory preferred.
  • Strong preference on prior microtomy and staining experience. 

Pay & Benefits: 

  • $17-25/hr depending on experience 
  • Medical/Dental/Vision
