The Laboratory Specialist II (Field Operations) conducts tasks within a wide scope of laboratory functions under supervision of our managers. This position includes working in the field as part of the Operations and Technical teams to serve our Client’s laboratories as well as conducting data interpretation and reporting.

As a second-level Laboratory Specialist, you will get to continuously improve your laboratory skills as well as your professional presence to effectively serve and interact with our Clients directly. You will enjoy extensive travel and communicating with numerous clients. You can actively seek and take advantage of opportunities to learn new skills and acquire expertise on relevant scientific, technological, and industry trends.

Your Expertise and Experience

– Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology or Medical Laboratory Sciences

– Medical Technologist certification preferred

– 1+ years of industrial/clinical laboratory experience

– Mass spectrometry and/or immunoassay experience desired

– Proven experience with Agilent LCMS preferred

– Willingness to travel – up to 80% of the time

Your Responsibilities

– Traveling onsite to provide service to clients in connection with laboratory builds, instrument installations and validations, training laboratory personnel and providing troubleshooting support

– Identifying and keeping managers informed of any issues that arise

– Actively contributing to problem-solving and troubleshooting efforts

– In close collaboration with Quality and Operations managers, completing tasks needed for corrective and preventive actions following assessments and audits

– Supporting the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory quality, referencing accepted standards and requirements

– When not in the field, completing routine and non-routine data verification, certification, review, and reporting

– Performing the verification of QC data

– Participating in the instruction and training of others

– Performing essential laboratory functions such as maintain laboratory records, quality control charts, maintenance logs and various logs as needed

– Contributing to inventory and consumable supply management services functions as assigned

– Complies with Company directives to comply all State and Federal laws, guidelines and regulations including compliance with CLIA and HIPAA statutes and regulations

– Performs other duties as directed

Compensation and Benefits:

– Salary range of $50,000 – $70,000, dependent on experience and qualifications
