Lighthouse Lab Services is representing a well-established lab that is looking for a Lead Medical Technologist to join their team in the Houston area! This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to take the next step in their careers.

Key responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

-Remains knowledgeable and competent for all policies, procedures and protocols.
-Ensures and verifies quality control data is appropriate for the complexity of the re-ported tests.
-Troubleshoots and maintains laboratory equipment.
-Resolves technical problems and identifies training needs
-Assists in writing Standard Operating Procedures and Validation reports
-Assists in workplace inspections and processes audit as required and corrective action as implemented
-Maintains competency in computer functions in assigned areas.
-Maintains inventory of reagents and consumables needed for clinical testing
-Completes, verifies and reports testing in timely manner.
-Complies with safety guidelines and procedures and adheres to regulatory mandates.
-Remains responsible and accountable for all actions.-Adjusts, prioritizes, and organizes work to achieve maximum productivity to meet the workload demands of the section.
-Assists peers and supervisors with tasks after completion of assigned work.
-Adheres to attendance policy, begins work as scheduled.
-Works independently, utilizes resources available to maximize efficiency.

-Actively participates in training students, employees and fellows.
-Participates in process improvement projects.
-Validates and evaluates new methodologies and tests with the help of Laboratory Manager and technical support.
-Validates database for new software or new tests implemented in the laboratory.
-Assists in ensuring that proper training is given and recorded for all employees.
-Assists in evaluating competency testing of lab personnel.
-Coaches and mentors’ students and employees.

Basic Preferred Profile:

BS/BA in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biological Sciences, or related.
-8+ Years of Clinical Laboratory Experience.
-MT/MLS (ASCP) or equivalent certification required.

Salary and Benefits:

$30-35//hour (Depending on Experience/Title)
