The Laboratory Specialist Lead is a leader within the Molecular Resulting team, conducts tasks within a broad scope of laboratory functions, particularly with regards to data analysis and review. You'll be responsible for communicating company goals, practices, deadlines, peer reviews, and individual KPIs to assigned reports. The Lead manages a team of junior employees, including training and hiring junior team members, providing high-level client support, and monitoring and reporting the team's performance. You'll also directly complete raw data analysis, review, and reporting and be expected to work with minimal supervision.

As a Lead, you'll reflect competence in all laboratory activities and provides leadership through example and delegated reporting and management responsibilities to continuously improve processes. The incumbent is expected to display a strong professional presence, effectively serve clients directly, and actively seek and take advantage of opportunities to learn new skills and acquire expertise on relevant scientific, technological, industry trends. Keep reading for some other exciting info about this job.

You will learn all aspects of molecular laboratory organization and operations by working side-by-side with your team as they help new laboratories get off the ground. Soon enough, we'll expect you to be able to train others on what you have learned effectively.

You will travel onsite to manage new laboratory projects. When you arrive, you will be the company's face for client teams, who will be counting on you to execute the project plan, deliver on-time, and keep them informed about the progress. To pull it off, you'll have to be organized, self-motivated, and diligent in controlling all the different pieces on track. You'll also have to be a great communicator.

We have two headquarter locations in North Carolina, one in Charlotte and another in Holly Springs. You're more than welcome to work out of one of our offices (post-COVID, of course); however, this position can be remote, as well.


Qualifications and Expertise:

–  Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology or Medical Laboratory Sciences

–  Advanced degree considered a plus

–  Must qualify for West Virginia State lab technologist licensure

–  Molecular Biology, MB(ASCP), certification preferred

–  Industrial/clinical laboratory experience

–  Clinical infectious disease testing experience desired

–  Minimum 3 years of laboratory experience required

–  Minimum 3 years data analysis/review experience required

–  Willingness to travel overnight

–  Flexibility, patience, and composure
