Lighthouse Lab Services is representing a hospital lab near the Malden area that is looking for Phlebotomists to join their team! Sounds like something you'd be interested in?
Key responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
-Works independently and is able to efficiently and consistently perform phlebotomy procedures on the outpatient population including pediatric patients, rarely missing a vein.
-Using the Meditech system enters patient orders including patient demographics and accurately selecting patients from the standing/scheduled order file.
-Using the Iatrics product checks for Medical Necessity and issues an Advanced Beneficiary Notice to Medicare patients when necessary. Obtain missing information on a patient requisition, including diagnosis, location, date of birth and insurance information.
-Knows and follows all phlebotomy procedures, ensures proper patient identification. Can adapt to specimen collection procedures at various facilities. Properly attends patient, following all safety and infection control policies. Is able to provide proper care for a patient in distress.
-Has knowledge of laboratory testing specimen requirements. Labels all specimens accurately, following the outreach labeling procedure. Processes specimens and prepares batch for transport to the core laboratory.
-Maintains their site based on the DPH requirements including the disposal of waste and temperature monitoring for all refrigerators.
Basic Preferred Profile:
-High School Diploma or GED
-2+ years of Phlebotomy experience.
