Work for a great medical center that serves the southern suburban counties of Chicago! With great lab leadership who shows appreciation for its employees — this hospital lab would love for you to join its tight-knit team!

Company Information:

– 300-bed hospital

– Nationally recognized, award-winning Level II trauma hospital

– Nation-leading programs in heart care, cancer care, neurosurgery and orthopedics

– Has been named one of the nations top 100 hospitals by Truven Health Analytics

We Value and Appreciate Our Employees:

– Full Benefits

– Time Off

– Health, Vision, and Dental Insurance

– Retirement

Your Role Within the Company:

Point of Care Coordinators are tremendously important because of how crucial their job is to patient diagnoses. It's estimated that 70% of medical decisions are based on lab results — without folks like you, those decisions wouldn't be possible. You'll be responsible for making sure that all relevant hospital employees (nurses, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, etc) know how to operate and maintain testing equipment. So someone who's patients and enjoys training is important. You should also expect some clerical and miscellaneous tasks as assigned (but that's part of the job, right?). Together, you'll be working together with doctors, nurses, and other hospital staff to save lives and help people feel better. What's more rewarding than that?

Community Information:

Bourbonnais, IL is a community a little over an hour south of the city of Chicago where you're close enough to spend the day in the city but you live far enough away to enjoy some of nature. Kankakee River State Park in Bourbonnais is a quick drive away and allows hiking and biking trails for those who enjoy the outdoors. This would also be a great place to live and is just a 15 minute commute to the hospital. If you're a football fan, the Chicago Bears hold training camp in town every summer which is always fun for the community.

Background Profile:

– Expertise as a Medical Technologist Generalist (Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Bank, Toxicology, Urinalysis, Immunology and Microbiology)

– Knowledge of QC, QA and proficiency testing procedures

– 4+ years of experience within Point of Care testing

– Working knowledge of personnel management

– Exposure to CAP and CLIA regulations

– MT(ASCP) or MLT(ASCP) or equivalent certification
