Lighthouse Lab Services is representing an upcoming Forensic Reference Laboratory that is looking for an experienced Research and Development Scientist to join their team near scenic Houston, TX.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to the following:
-Develop processes for rapid and efficient NGS library preparation from low-quant/-qual specimens, adapting existing products where feasible, and developing new methods and reagents.
-High multiplex PCR assay development.
-Manage multiple independent projects to meet milestones.
-Stay current with advanced molecular methods, scientific literature, and contribute to ideation, decision-making, and progress reporting meetings.
-Provide expert support for process design and assay development.
-Other duties as assigned.
Basic Preferred Profile:
-Ph.D. in Genomics, Molecular Biology, or related.
-2+ Years of Research and Development experience in Genomics and Molecular Biology REQUIRED.
-Proficient with next-generation sequencing from low-quant/-qual sources, such as single-cell, FFPE, or ancient DNA.
-Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a multi-functional team.
-Industrial experience in product/assay development preferred.
-Current knowledge of molecular biology and next generation sequencing library preparation is essential.-Industrial experience in product/assay development is preferred.
