FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Acquisition strengthens CLIA Laboratory Director and Authorizing MD capabilities while preserving the personalized service and trusted physician relationships MJB clients value.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — July 16, 2026 — Lighthouse Lab Services today announced the acquisition of MJB Lab Consulting, a laboratory medical leadership and physician services platform specializing in CLIA Laboratory Director, Authorizing MD, physician oversight, and regulatory consulting services.
Jason Severtson, CEO, LLS
The acquisition expands Lighthouse’s ability to support clinical laboratories, physician office laboratories, hospitals, direct-to-consumer testing organizations, and emerging diagnostic companies with experienced medical leadership and physician oversight. Together, the combined organization will help laboratories build, operate, optimize, and grow high-performing laboratory programs while navigating an increasingly complex regulatory environment.
Existing MJB clients will continue working with the physicians and experts they know today, with Dr. Michael J. Bauer remaining actively involved to help ensure a seamless transition. Both teams are working closely to maintain continuity of service while providing clients with access to the broader capabilities and resources of Lighthouse Lab Services.
As laboratories expand into new testing modalities and face evolving compliance requirements, the need for experienced medical leadership continues to grow. By combining MJB’s physician network with Lighthouse’s broader operational, regulatory, staffing, quality, reimbursement, and laboratory management capabilities, clients will have access to deeper resources while preserving the responsive, relationship-driven service both organizations are known for.
Dr. Michael Bauer, Founder, MJB Consulting
“MJB has built an exceptional physician network and a trusted platform for laboratory medical leadership. Bringing these capabilities into Lighthouse strengthens a core part of our business and expands our ability to support laboratories throughout their lifecycle,” said Jason Severtson, Chief Executive Officer of Lighthouse Lab Services. “Together, we can help more organizations build, operate, optimize, and grow high-performing laboratory programs while preserving the physician relationships and personalized service that have made MJB successful.”
“MJB has always been built around trusted physician relationships, responsive service, and a commitment to helping laboratories operate with confidence,” said Dr. Michael J. Bauer, Founder of MJB Lab Consulting. “Lighthouse shares those values and brings additional resources and capabilities that will benefit our clients and physicians. I look forward to remaining actively involved and helping ensure a seamless transition as we build the next chapter of the business together.”
The acquisition is an important milestone in Lighthouse’s long-term growth strategy. By adding MJB’s physician network and medical leadership capabilities, Lighthouse further strengthens its ability to help laboratories navigate regulatory complexity, improve operational performance, and deliver high-quality patient care.
