A well-known, well-established molecular lab in the southeast is launching a sister lab in the Philadelphia area and looking for a Medical Director to oversee the build-out, implementation, and lead the Anatomic Pathology division from scratch. This CAP accredited pathology lab aims to create a new blue print of how molecular diagnostics are integrated into clinical practice, creating better diagnostics for a better future, and their molecular testing is already assisting patients with making important medical decisions. Adding wound and nail testing in-house will better serve their patients, and building this Anatomic Pathology section from scratch will allows the most qualified Medical Director to have a great deal of ownership and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

Responsibilities: 
o    Application Processing:  Complete, process, and maintain CLIA, CAP, and state specific applications and documentation.
o    Equipment Recommendations: Recommend appropriate equipment and supplies for the specific molecular and cytogenetic testing.  
o    Laboratory Build-out and Design:  Work in conjunction with instrument manufacturers to plan layout and design on the laboratory space as needed for future changes/additions to the lab.
o    Validation:  Assist, oversee, and guide any new validations.
o    SOPs: Develop SOPs as needed.
o    Recruiting: Assist in recruiting, screening, and interviewing potential staff-level employees for the laboratory.
o    Test Menu: Provides guidance with regard to current and proposed test menus.
o    Inspection Preparation: Prepare the laboratory and staff for upcoming inspections and surveys.
o    Industry Knowledge: Keep up-to-date on industry changes in billing, coding, reimbursements, testing, best practices, and innovations.
o    Billing: Provide pro-formas or other documentation as needed, estimating expected revenues based on reimbursement, start-ups costs, and on-going testing.
o    Consulting: Provide on-going consultation to address regulatory and technical issues.
 
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
 
The qualified candidate is REQUIRED to hold a board certification in Anatomic Pathology; additionally, candidates are REQUIRED to hold a board certification in either Clinical Pathology or in Molecular Genetics Pathology.

Preference will also be given to those with wound and nail experience. 

•   M.D. or D.O. degree
•   ABP Certified—American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology AND Clinical Molecular Pathology or Molecular Genetics Pathology

Salary: 
•    $325,000+ dependent upon experience
