Lab Instrument Refurbishment Process
The Lighthouse lab instrument refurbishment process involves restoring used laboratory instruments to a “like new” condition, including cleaning, repairing, preventative maintenance, and calibrating systems. This process can significantly extend the lifespan of instruments and reduce the need for costly replacements. Refurbished instruments can also be a more budget-friendly option compared to purchasing new equipment.
Instrument Evaluation
An assessment of options needed to meet order requirements is made. All electronics, pneumatics, and mainframe components are then inspected for functionality and accuracy.
Cleaning & Repairing
Our engineers disassemble the equipment down to its framework. all instrument chassis and surfaces are thoroughly cleaned.
Testing
Once the instrument data system is updated, the performance is optimized until analyses show it meets or exceeds original manufacturer’s specifications.
Burn In
To ensure product is calibrated correctly, systems are run continuously for up to 48 hours. Any issues with variability in the system performance are addressed in a second phase of testing.
Final Inspection
All final tests are produced and recorded, with copies being included with the shipment. Each system is reviewed by management to ensure their performance meets or exceeds manufacturers’ specifications.
Packaging and Shipment
The instrument(s) are packaged in accordance with domestic or international shipping requirements. Shipments include all necessary manuals, cables, startup supplies, and power cords.
